The Ettore Super Brush – Your New Sidekick In Summer Maintenance

Tools Of The Trade
1. The Ettore Super Brush – Your New Sidekick In Summer Maintenance

Welcome to this first article in our Tools of the Trade series. In this series, we’ll cover the equipment that we use in our business, COS Exterior Services, to help clients and property managers maintain their homes in Colorado Springs, Monument, and the Black Forest areas.

Most homeowners want to get quality tools without a monster price tag. Adding on to this, they also want versatility with that piece of equipment. If we were to place these requirements on something to help us clean our windows, there is one tool that helps to clean screens, wipe out tracks, knock down cobwebs, and more, Enter the Ettore Super Brush.

The Super Brush is a tool we use all the time. I mean on almost every job, I’m reaching for the Super Brush to do something. Originally, I intended to use it to clear spider webs while washing windows for a customer in Monument. Since that time, its taken up a permanent place on our must-have list.

The tool – what and how to use it

First, let’s talk about the tool itself. The Super Brush has stiff bristles on two sides, which attach to a heavy-duty base with a handle. The base of the tool pivots too. Make no mistake – there is some heft here. We’ve used the tool two ways – either by hand or attached to an extension pole. Paired with an Ettore REACH pole, the Super Brush fits snugly, yet can be easily removed. I should say at this point, while I love using Ettore tools, this article is not sponsored, endorsed, or in any way supported by them. That’s the tool itself – but how can you use it?

Imagine you’ve just taken your window screens off. You’re stepping back and probably coughing due to all the dirt coming off them. The Super Brush is perfect to dry brush those dirty screens. We use it as step one in our screen cleaning process, followed by a damp cloth for our Standard service. Beyond cleaning screens, this tool can get debris off of frames and in some cases, the tracks. What if you notice spider webs while cleaning your windows in a high corner? By attaching the Super brush to an extension pole, you can easily knock down those webs without getting on a ladder or risking a bite to clean them with your hands.

No review can be fair without assessing a tool’s problems and no tool is perfect. The tiny teeny nit-picky compliant with this tool is that the bristles on the edge seem to fray easily. This doesn’t affect its function and is only cosmetic. Despite frayed bristles, the Super Brush is still super.
